Oldtimer vehicles (historic vehicles) club “Stari sjaj” Vinkovci was founded on March 5, 2011, and the main reason for establishing the club is to gather enthusiasts and collectors of vintage vehicles as well as to preserve technical heritage in the area of Croatian Vukovar-Srijem County. In a very short time, the club started with organization and work. “Stari sjaj” is the first and only club of its kind in the Vukovar-Srijem County and operates as a non-profit organization.
The club gathers around 50 members from various parts of our county. The members of the club have a very interesting collection of vintage cars and motorcycles, and many of them have been put on the road after a long time and restoration. Many interesting examples, some of them more than 70 years old, are still in garages and we are waiting for their near restoration, other vehicles are active at meetings and exhibitions throughout our region.
Of the cars in driving condition, the oldest in the club is currently a 1929 Peugeot 201.
In April 2012 we became the 30th member of the Croatian Oldtimer Association (HROS). The Croatian Oldtimer Association is a member of the international association for the preservation of vintage vehicles “FIVA”, which prescribes regulations about categorization and evaluation of historic vehicles and imposes strict rules for their preservation.
